During video prep, big moments are created.  Through the process, an epiphany occurred.  No amount of planning could have revealed live happenstance.  However, recognizing and capturing it requires an open mind and quick thinking. Take advantage of good natural sunshine or the imagery of life.  Audio like B-role video, capture real samples and add a layer of meaning...when sampling, it is best to use your camera mic and let it role, point at a stable object; you can detach audio track for later use.

Better Days

If there was a handmade devil available just for me...no thanks, I already got him and his buddy...To prepare for the final CLAM projects.  I made some elaborate plans involving weather and a popsicle stick bridge...but, it was just a no go.  I have some amazing photos and video...but no story or spin could be found.  

Then it occurred to me...While I had reached out to meet the sustainability community, I lost touch with my own sustainability community.  In a way, I have been telling my story, evolving into a more conscious human being. I talked the talk, now I walk the walk...yes, literally I have been writing the word.  

It will put you to the test, but 21 days later you will have a new habit or have broken an old one.

Video media has always intimidated me.  I was in fear of my voice and movements.  My hypercritical eye, technical fears and workflow insecurities aside this is by far the most incredible communications tool available.

A word or two about the process; the class lectures, technical advice were a good starting point.  I wish I had skipped ahead (like I always do).  Craving a less-stress (think internal vs. external) induced semester.  As I finish a rather rigorous graduate level architecture degree, my project deadlines, advisor co-ordination issues plus the conflicts of having a top level athlete child- really pushed the limits.
